A little bit of stitching resumes...

Finally!  I've been doing a little bit of stitching and have something I can show you.  I've pulled out my Jane Austen sampler that I started back in March of 2012.  You can see that post HERE.

This is what it looked like back then.

Sometime between March '12 and now, I stitched the trees and the roof with windows, probably last winter.  I've picked it back up with starting the brick work.  Not a ton of progress but progress nonetheless.

See the coral brick area between the three windows?  Had to undo all that and re-stitch because I miscounted in stitching the first window.  See what happens when you leave stitching for a really long time?  Would have had much more progress had I not had that snafu.  There really was no other way but to redo it to make it look right.

Now that I've gotten the stitching bug again, I'll continue on it some more.  I really am enjoying this piece right now.  Perhaps a bit of Jane Austen on the TV and a pot of tea will keep me going on it today?

Hope all is well in your part of the world.
Blessings,

Birthday Treat & some decluttering

As usual, time is just flying by especially summer break.

Had my stamp group a couple of weeks ago and here are a couple of projects I had them make; a birthday card and matching cupcake box.   The card uses SU! last year's Sale-a-bration stamp called Outline Occasions and the Create a Cupcake Punch.  I can't remember the designer series paper's name but I believe it was last years Sale-a-bration offering as well.  Colors used:  Pool Party, Calypso Coral & Lucky Limeade.

I followed this tutorial HERE and was inspired by this project HERE.

I have not been stitching much lately, just a few stitches in a Jane Austen inspired piece.  I'll show you progress in a different post.  I have been organizing my needlework patterns though and have a few I'm selling on eBay, all individually.  If you'd like to take a peek at each one, here's a link to my items for sale:

That's all for now.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a lovely day!

Cheerful Yellow

Hello!  Bit of spring goodness here.  Back in the spring, my youngest son's class was responsible for providing a treat for the lower school teachers.

We opted for a spring tea and these were the table center pieces I made for it.

Little pots of daffodils and yellow pansies stuffed into paper bags with raffia tied around them.  Little pennant bunting in yellow.
Too cute.

Have a day filled with sunshine yellow!

First Day of April

....and it's going to be a beautiful one.

Here's a thank you card for a friend.  Inspired by Melissa's card HERE.  Great way to use up scraps of designer series paper.  I've had this paper for awhile now that I can't even remember the name of it.  It coordinated with one of SU's sets, Looks Like Spring, I think.

Made it a post card, sizing it to fit a business size envelope.  Colors are Crumb Cake, Barely Banana, Chocolate Chip and white.  Butterfly punch from Martha Stewart, Espresso Twine, embossing folder on the strips of CC cardstock, and some little pearls for embellishments.  Cute and simple.

Hope you have a great week!

Happy Easter

Here's a card I had at my last stamp camp for some wonderful ladies that like to take their time and stamp with me.

Using SU!'s Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Bloomin' Marvelous and the single stamps set, Easter Blessing.  Colors are Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizazz, and Pink Pirouette.

I did not realize before snapping the picture that I lost one of the little gems on one of the pink flowers.  Oh well.

Hope you have had a wonderful Easter!

Blessings,

Stamping

There are some days I love to stamp, other days I read, then other times I cross stitch.  Then there are lots of days where I don't do anything!  That's been mostly the case lately.

But since spring break, I've been playing with my stamps.  I pulled out a set I hardly have used, SU! Great Friend, now retired.  It's one I just had to have, used it on a card or two, then it sat in the closet unused for a very long time.  Partly because it is wood mounted and I prefer my clear mount sets over the wood nowadays.

So I pulled out the neglected set, peeled it off it's wood block and made it into a clear mount set using Papilio Inkjet clear static cling vinyl film using THIS tutorial and THIS one.

Found the coordinating designer series paper (that I just had to have with the set!) and inked up the stamps.  Made several cards, like the ones above and below.

I'm determined to use up all of this paper, making simple coordinating tags with the scraps.  No use hoarding it.

Had to pull out an old color to match with the designer series paper, A Walk in the Park.  It uses the retired color Cameo Coral.  Good thing I hadn't gotten rid of it yet.  I am getting ready to clean out my stamp room and do away with the old colors and coordinating cardstock.

Going to find another old set to redo and give it a little inky love.

A Spring Tea

Happy Spring!
Popping in  to share with you a  little gift for my sister who loves to drink tea as much I do.

It's one of our favorite daily rituals.

Packaged up a tin of Harney & Sons tea called "Paris" with a tea themed card.

Used the SU! set called Tea Shoppe.  I cased a card I made awhile back but used Wisteria Wonder color scheme to match the tin.

Enjoying a break from school; we are on our spring/Easter holiday break.
Love having this time at home but it's going by way too quickly for my liking!

Have a lovely day!
